Case Study: Noteworthy Wines

case study: Noteworthy Wines  //   links: website

Noteworthy Wines is a great example of where we’ve showed our adaptability in terms of web development services. Noteworthy Wines had an existing Wordpress based website but still needed a solution to 4 mission critical problems:

1) Driving subscriptions to the Noteworthy Newsletter 2)Getting customers to read about new wines, 3) purchase the wines online 4) recommend them to their friends.

1.  driving subscribers

We used a JavaScript plugin for building notification bars to prompt each visitor to the Noteworthy Website to subscribe to the newsletter. This effective method has resulted in a clean list of over 600 subscribers within a month.

2.  online purchases

E-Commerce for wines in Ontario is governed strictly by the LCBO. Nonetheless, private wine buyers are offered the opportunity to place orders for wines and redeem gift vouchers via our bespoke system.

We’ve also deployed custom integration of Zoho and MailChimp to allow for seamless form-based information fetching. Whenever a visitor to the site enters details in any of the forms (whether to book a tasting or to subscribe to the newsletter), their details are remembered and they are simultaneously added to both the Noteworthy’s Zoho CRM and MailChimp systems.

2.  reviewing

Noteworthy Wines are proud of their selection and rightly so, since many of the wines they import have received excellent reviews and won several medals. Reviews from connoisseurs and experts are shown on the information pages, but more importantly users are able to have their own say, instantly reviewing products with both text and ratings (via JavaScript plugin).

3. sharing

With so much information and imagery on the website, its absolutely imperative to maximize the sharing capabilities of the Noteworthy website. Integration of targeted channels (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+) allow users to post about their experiences with a particular wine quickly, easily and directly.

Case Study: Abruzzi Ristorante

Link: Abruzzi Website http://www.abruzzi.ca

Abruzzi is a neighbourhood eatery located in the heart of downtown London, Ontario,
serving seasonally Italian inspired cuisine with a commitment to using local and sustainable food.

1. researched design

When it came to a web design we recognized the importance of serving all end users including the increasingly growing segment of tablet and mobile browsers. Consequently we delivered a solution based in HTML5 with responsive design elements. From your computer, mobile phone or tablet, this site is smart no matter how you look at it.

Remaining true to our design ethic and the aesthetics of the restaurant we built a very clean website that is both eye-catching and bold. We made sure to present vital information about location and contact details along with social media integration in the footer of every page.

Our research showed us that, overwhelmingly, visitors to restaurant websites are engaged and converted to action by images and  as a result we incorporated beautiful galleries in the site which
allow users to  “feast their eyes” on both the food and ambience of the restaurant while the wine list and menus are kept simple and include downloadable pdf versions.

2. innovative approaches

In a very bold and unique move, the ingredients and suppliers are featured on the website:

“At Abruzzi we believe that beautiful food starts with beautiful ingredients and thats why we only use the freshest, finest local produce in our restaurant. As our guest we believe you'd want to know more about the food on your plate and thats why we've included this page on our website. Please explore the wonderful (and in most cases sustainable) Canadian farms and mills where we source our ingredients.”

3. spreading the word

Given the very honest approach Abruzzi takes to their product and customers, you can understand why we were excited to spread the news! Seamless integration with Facebook, Twitter, Urban Spoon and Trip Advisor allows website users to promote Abruzzi through social interaction and sharing of reviews. To keep the conversation going, users are invited to sign up for the Abruzzi newsletter which features seasonal menu updates, new wine arrivals and supplier news.

Our Facebook Ads launch campaign for Abruzzi:

Targeted 160 000 24-54 yr old users in London, Ontario

(interested in Food & Dining)

Reach: 135,802 impressions

Engagement 171 clicks

Results: 280 actions

New Project Live: Prairie Fire

Client: Prairie Fire
Links: Website and Blog

Prairie Fire Gifts is a retailer of Ladies, Mens and Kid's fashion with two outlets in New Jersey in the United States. We developed an entire digital revamp strategy for them to re-energize their brand and drive sales through social channels.

We started from the ground up with two new logos for Prairie Fire, one for the online store and another for the, separately branded, blog, Have-A-Bath. When it came to a web design we recognized the importance of mobile shoppers and delivered a solution based in HTML5 with responsive design elements. From your computer, mobile phone or tablet, this site is smart no matter how you look at it.

To drive the engine of the online store, we deployed an e-commerce solution based on the client's preferred platform ECWID. This solution allows Prairie Fire to accept payments using secure SSL payment gateways and handle shipping via UPS, streamlining their delivery channels significantly.

Overall, the most critical factor in development for Prairie Fire was the issue of effective social marketing. Seamless integration of Twitter, Facebook within the online store promotes social interaction and sharing of the company's unique products, while integration of the blog feed into the homepage simultaneously retains viewership and increases SEO.

Warm and welcoming is the main theme of this website, echoing the atmosphere at our client's downtown orthodontic practice.

Punctuated with kid friendly elements and yet retaining the overall effect of a professional family practice, this website is designed to offer quick access to pertinent information for both clients and referring doctors.

A specialized custom Online Referral System allows doctors and dentists to refer patients online in seconds along with uploading X-Rays directly to the client.

Built in HTML5, the website will retain the same rich user experience on all platforms, from smartphones and mobiles, through tablets and desktops.
